My much-anticipated schedule to attend a court hearing as an observer in a Regional Trial Court was unexpectedly rescheduled due to health protocols—an evident reflection of the seriousness with which the courts, like other government offices, adhere to safety measures. Stepping into the Hall of Justice, I found myself surrounded by a plethora of alcohol bottles and sanitizing sprays—indicators of the conscientious approach taken by the RTC to ensure a safe environment for all. (By the way, I have intentionally edited this piece so as to remove names or indicators of the Judicial Branch number, the presiding Judge, the City, and the date for purposes of privacy.)
